Oppo Pad Mini Matte Display Edition Launches in India at Rs 94,999, Sale From October 29
The 8.8-inch OLED tablet has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip and an 8,000mAh battery, comes in one 8GB and 256GB Wi-Fi variant, and goes on open sale on October 29.

Oppo has launched the Pad Mini Matte Display Edition in India at Rs 94,999 for its only variant, with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and Wi-Fi only. Open sale starts on October 29 on the Oppo Online Store and Flipkart (Business Today, FoneArena). It launched on October 22 alongside the Find X10 series and Enco X4 earbuds.
The price is far higher than pre-launch reports suggested. One report before launch expected Rs 79,999, and an earlier estimate of around Rs 51,000 was pure speculation (Notebookcheck). Rs 94,999 is the figure on Oppo's own store.

The matte OLED screen
The headline feature is the display: an 8.8-inch OLED panel at 2520 by 1680 pixels (344 ppi) with a matte finish and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The matte coating is meant to cut reflections and add a paper-like feel for reading and drawing with the stylus.
Peak brightness is reported inconsistently. Indian listings quoted by FoneArena and Business Today say 1,600 nits, while Notebookcheck says 3,200 nits. Treat neither as firm until Oppo's full spec sheet or independent reviews settle it.

Is it worth Rs 94,999?
At this price the Pad Mini sits well above most compact tablets sold in India and asks buyers to pay for a flagship chip, a matte OLED and a very light build. The compromises are 8GB of RAM, no cellular option and a single storage choice, so there is no cheaper way in. The free case and stylus add real value for note-takers, and the bank offers can cut the effective price by several thousand rupees, but this is still a premium, niche device. Buyers who mainly want a small tablet for reading and video should also watch for Apple's expected OLED iPad mini before deciding.
What to watch next
Independent reviews will test the 144Hz matte panel, battery life under load and the thermals of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in a body this thin.
