Samsung Galaxy F70 5G Launched in India at Rs 19,999 With a 50MP OIS Camera

Samsung launched the Galaxy F70 5G in India on October 18, a mid-range phone aimed at buyers who want a stabilised camera and a large battery without paying flagship prices. It starts at Rs 19,999, and sales begin on Flipkart on October 20 at 12 noon (Smartprix, ETV Bharat).

Price in India

6GB + 128GBRs 22,999Rs 20,999

Some outlets, including TelecomTalk, lead with Rs 17,999, but that is the effective price with a partner bank discount; buyers paying by cash, UPI or a non-partner card pay the Rs 19,999 sticker price. The bank-offer figure for the 6GB model assumes the same Rs 2,000 discount, so check Flipkart for the exact offer.

Before launch, outlets disagreed on whether the screen would run at 120Hz or 90Hz; the launch specifications confirm 90Hz (The Tech Outlook). Some outlets report a promise of four Android upgrades and five years of security patches, but others say update terms were not stated, so check Samsung's product page. Samsung says the F series is designed and made in India.

Is it a rebadged Galaxy A17?

The specifications closely match the Galaxy A17 5G, which also uses the Exynos 1330. One outlet calls the F70 a rebadged A17; Samsung has made no such statement. Colour names were also reported inconsistently before launch, as Lilac Bliss and Bliss Black by some outlets and Vivid Violet and Bold Black by others.

Should you buy it?

At Rs 19,999 the F70 5G's strengths are OIS on the main camera, an AMOLED panel and Samsung's software features. The weak spots are the 90Hz refresh rate, where many rivals offer 120Hz, the slow 25W charging with no charger in the box, and the modest Exynos 1330. It sits between the Galaxy F70e 5G, launched in February, and the F70 Pro 5G, launched in August. Buyers should also compare it with the Lava Aura Curve 5G and other phones in our Phone Finder.
