OnePlus 16 Launches in China From 5,699 Yuan With a 9,000mAh Battery and 100W Charging
OnePlus has confirmed the price and charging speed it left open before launch. The phone costs more than the OnePlus 15 did, and it is a China-only release for now.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus 16 in China on Monday, October 12, with an introductory price of 5,699 yuan for the 12GB and 256GB model, 1,700 yuan above the OnePlus 15's China launch price of 3,999 yuan. It settles the two questions OnePlus left open before the event: price and charging speed (Cashify, Udaipur Times).
Price in China
| OnePlus 16 (China) | Introductory price | List price |
|---|---|---|
| 12GB + 256GB | 5,699 yuan | 5,999 yuan |
| 12GB + 512GB | 6,499 yuan | 6,799 yuan |
| 16GB + 512GB | 7,199 yuan | 7,499 yuan |
| 16GB + 1TB | 8,199 yuan | 8,499 yuan |
Introductory prices run from October 12 to November 13, as reported by Notebookcheck and Android Authority, and buyers eligible for local subsidies can pay 500 yuan less. Sales began on October 13. A rumoured cheaper 8GB model did not appear. Chinese outlets attribute the price rise to memory and chip costs; the starting price is still 300 yuan below the iQOO 16. The OnePlus 15 is now listed at 5,099 yuan, so the new phone costs 600 yuan more than the model it replaces at current prices.
Battery and charging
The 9,000mAh battery, confirmed before launch by OnePlus China president Li Jie Louis, is about 23 percent larger than the OnePlus 15's 7,300mAh cell. OnePlus now states 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, with 80 percent in 37 minutes wired. It claims the battery keeps at least 80 percent of its capacity for five years, without publishing the cycle count behind that claim. Some reports mention 120W charging, but most sources list 100W.
Chip, display and cameras

|---|---|---|
| Chip | Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 (2nm, up to 5GHz) | - |
| Display | 6.78-inch flat BOE OLED, 165Hz, up to 185Hz in supported games | 165Hz |
| Main camera | 200MP, f/1.6, 1/1.4-inch | - |
| Ultrawide / telephoto | 50MP 116-degree / 50MP 3x (IMX882) | - |
| Front camera | 50MP | - |
| Battery | 9,000mAh | 7,300mAh |
| Charging | 100W wired, 50W wireless | - |
| China launch price | 5,699 yuan | 3,999 yuan |
The phone uses LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage, OnePlus's own chips for networking, display and touch, and a Glacier vapour chamber the company says cools 40 percent better. It runs ColorOS 17 on Android 17, with IP68 and IP69 ratings, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers. A 65:24 XPAN-style shooting mode is included. The OnePlus 15 had slightly downgraded cameras compared with the OnePlus 13, so the 200MP main sensor is the clearest hardware step up.
India and global plans
The OnePlus 16 is China-only for now, and OnePlus has said it is leaving Europe and North America, making the OnePlus 15 its last flagship there. OnePlus has not announced an India launch date or price. Indian reports expect a global launch around November, and price estimates range widely from about Rs 85,999 to Rs 99,990 (Digit, TelecomTalk); these are unconfirmed. The OnePlus 15 launched in India at Rs 72,999 for 12GB and 256GB.
