iQOO 16 Is Confirmed for India, but a China Price Near ₹86,000 Raises Pricing Questions
The phone is official in China with an 8,400mAh battery and a 165Hz screen. iQOO has confirmed an India launch but not a date or price.
The iQOO 16 was first reported to be in testing in India by tipster Yogesh Brar, and iQOO has since confirmed it is coming. The handset is official in China, where it launched on September 29, 2026, and the open question for Indian buyers is the price.
<blockquote><strong>Update, October 25:</strong> iQOO CEO Nipun Marya confirmed the iQOO 16's India launch at India Mobile Congress 2026, where the phone was shown with a "Coming Soon" tag. No date or price has been announced (<a href="https://www.mymobileindia.com/iqoo-16-india-launch-confirmed-at-imc-2026-what-to-expect/">My Mobile India</a>, <a href="https://www.smartprix.com/bytes/iqoo-16-confirmed-for-india-at-india-mobile-congress-2026-specs-expected-price-and-launch-timeline/">Smartprix</a>).</blockquote>
What is confirmed
The iQOO 16 is a gaming-focused flagship. According to 91mobiles and Android Central, it uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip alongside a Q4 gaming chip, and has a 6.85-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED screen from Samsung's M16 line that runs at 165Hz and reaches 10,000 nits peak brightness.

The price problem
The China price begins at CNY 5,999 for the base model, which 91mobiles converts to roughly ₹86,000 (Cashify). Android Central lists the 12GB and 512GB version at CNY 6,799, the 16GB and 512GB version at CNY 7,499 and the 16GB and 1TB version at CNY 8,499.
That is a 43 percent jump over the iQOO 15, which opened at CNY 4,199 in China. In India, 91mobiles says the iQOO 15 now sells at ₹85,999 after several price rises. A China price close to the older model's current Indian price, before import costs and taxes, suggests an Indian price above it.
What the reports say
The Sunday Guardian cites a Geekbench listing with the model number Vivo I2607 and expects a November or December launch (Sunday Guardian). Beebom expects the first week of November, while Smartprix and My Mobile India point to December or early 2027. iQOO has confirmed none of these dates.
Expected prices range from ₹86,999 (Beebom) to ₹99,999 (Smartprix), and Brar has suggested a starting price below ₹1 lakh while warning that a price near ₹1 lakh would be hard to sell. All of these are estimates.
What Indian buyers should do
Buyers who want a flagship now can buy the iQOO 15 at its current price, wait for official iQOO 16 pricing, or look at rivals. Waiting carries a risk, since the date is uncertain and the price may land near or above ₹90,000. Flagship phones in India are often sold with bank offers, so check those closer to launch.
What to watch next
Watch for iQOO to publish a launch date and teaser page, for BIS or other certification listings, and for official Indian pricing, which will show whether the brand absorbs part of the cost rise.
