Galaxy S27 Ultra Leak Points to Price Hike Alongside Bigger Battery and New Display
A tipster says the Korean price could rise by up to 150,000 won, while leaks point to a 5,700 to 5,800mAh silicon-carbon battery and Samsung's M16 OLED material. None of it is confirmed.

Samsung's Galaxy S27 Ultra, expected in early 2027, is taking shape in leaks around two linked stories: notable hardware upgrades, and a price increase that sources tie to those upgrades' rising component costs. Samsung has confirmed none of it.
<blockquote><strong>Update, October 25:</strong> Later leaks conflict on price. One Korean leaker put the increase for the S27 series at up to 130,000 won, and US figures from tipsters range from $1,399 to $1,499 for the base Ultra (<a href="https://www.phonearena.com/news/galaxy-s27-series-price-leak_id183739">PhoneArena</a>, <a href="https://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s27-pricing-targets-and-display-details-3720884/">Android Authority</a>).</blockquote>
The price hike, and why
The tipster kro_roe said on X that the S27 Ultra's Korean launch price will rise by 150,000 won, about $105 (HotHardware). Android Headlines framed it as an increase of up to KRW 150,000, roughly 8.3%, over the S26 Ultra in Korea, and noted that international changes do not always carry straight to US pricing, with rising memory costs and tight margins cited as the main reasons (Android Headlines).
The leak fits a wider pattern. The Galaxy S26 FE rose by about €50 in Europe, and the silicon-carbon battery and newer display materials reportedly planned for the S27 Ultra both cost more than the parts they replace. It is the same story as this year's memory shortage and AMD's reported GPU price rises: AI infrastructure spending pulling capacity away from consumer components, which shows up in the price of finished devices.
What buyers would get
| Area | Reported for Galaxy S27 Ultra | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Korean price | Up to 150,000 won more than S26 Ultra (about 8.3%) | Tipster leak; another leak says up to 130,000 won |
| Battery | Silicon-carbon, 5,700 to 5,800mAh (up from 5,000mAh) | Multiple leaks; capacity varies by source |
| Display | Samsung Display M16 OLED material | Reported by ETNews |
| Cameras | Either 50MP ultrawide and 50MP 5x periscope with no 3x, or a single 50MP 4x telephoto replacing 3x and 5x | Conflicting leaks |
| Chip and memory | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro for Galaxy, LPDDR6 | Reported |
| Cooling | Possible liquid cooling system | Floated by Sisa Journal |
Battery is the biggest reported change. Leaks describe a silicon-carbon cell of 5,700 to 5,800mAh, a large jump for a series that has stayed at 5,000mAh for several Ultra generations. Digital Trends, citing GalaxyClub, reported a 5,534mAh rated cell that could be marketed as 5,700mAh or 5,800mAh (Digital Trends).
Korean outlet ETNews has said the S27 Ultra will use Samsung Display's new M16 OLED material, described as its most advanced yet and the Galaxy S line's first major screen material upgrade in three years, with gains expected in brightness, colour accuracy, power efficiency and burn-in resistance.
Camera leaks are the most contested. Some describe a simplified array that drops the 3x telephoto for crops from the main sensor, alongside a 50MP ultrawide and 50MP 5x periscope. Others say Samsung is testing a 50MP 4x telephoto that would replace both the 3x and 5x lenses. Korea's Sisa Journal has floated a liquid cooling system, more common on gaming phones than mainstream flagships.
Why the caution flags matter
Nearly every figure here, from battery to cameras to price, comes from tipsters and industry sources rather than Samsung, and several conflict. The launch is months away, and specifications this early often change.
No Indian price has been leaked or announced.
What to watch next
Samsung usually confirms Galaxy S specifications only in the weeks before launch. The camera configuration is the first detail to watch as leaks converge ahead of an expected early 2027 unveiling.
