Snap Specs AR Glasses Cost $2,195, With a $2,395 Verizon 5G Case Bundle
Snap priced its first consumer AR glasses in June and used a September 16 event to add an AI assistant and a cellular case. Shipping is set for later this fall.

Snap's first consumer AR glasses, Specs, cost $2,195, a price the company first set in June 2026. At an event in Los Angeles on September 16 it added an AI assistant service and a cellular charging case, with shipping expected later this fall in the US, UK and France (Engadget, The Star/Bloomberg). CEO Evan Spiegel pitches them as a standalone wearable computer meant to eventually reduce how much people use their phones.
What you get for $2,195
Specs are standalone AR glasses that do not need a phone or computer. They use dual Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and a see-through display with a 51-degree field of view, and battery life is reported at up to four hours.

Snap also announced Specs Intelligence, an AI assistant service that will also reach iPhones and Macs, with free and paid tiers; it is available as a US iOS preview and asks for approval before taking actions (FoneArena). Snap is working with NVIDIA, AWS and Salesforce to bring Specs to businesses.
The Verizon option
In the US, buyers can pay $2,395 for a bundle that adds a Connected Case with 5G, which acts as a cellular hotspot and provides four extra charges. Verizon is the exclusive US carrier, with data plans from $10 a month for Verizon customers and $20 a month for others, and its 36-month payment plan is available to eligible customers (Verizon). Neither company has given a firm ship date for the cellular version.
Preorders are open in the US, the UK and France, with a $200 refundable deposit in the US, and EE is Snap's UK carrier partner.
A hard sell at this price
At $2,195, Specs are an early-adopter and developer product. Reports put the first production run at about 100,000 units, a figure Snap has not widely confirmed. Snap needs enough buyers and developers before larger rivals such as Meta and Apple ship cheaper or more polished alternatives. Snap's shares fell after the price was revealed, even as Spiegel rejected investor calls to spin off the hardware unit.
India is not among the preorder markets, and Snap has announced no plans for the country.

Watch for the first ship date and hands-on reviews, how many developers commit to Specs, and how Meta and Apple respond.
