Samsung has started pushing One UI 9, based on Android 17, to US versions of the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, according to Droid Life on October 2. The US wave followed a South Korea rollout that began on September 28 and 29 (Android Authority).

Update, October 25: Android Authority reported on October 5 that the US rollout, which began on unlocked units, is expanding to carrier-locked models too, though timing still depends on carrier and variant. Owners can check under Settings, Software update, Download and install.

What is rolling out in the US
| Model | US build |
|---|---|
| Galaxy S25 | S931USQUCDZIF |
| Galaxy S25+ | S936USQUCDZIF |
| Galaxy S25 Ultra | S938USQUCDZIF |
| Galaxy Z Fold 7 | F966USQUCCZIH |
| Galaxy Z Flip 7 | F766USQUCCZIH |
Droid Life gave no download size. The US build numbers share their endings with the Korean ones, ZIF for the S25 family and ZIH for the foldables, which suggests the same software base.
What the update adds
Droid Life highlights My FanCam, which automatically tracks a selected person in a recorded video and keeps them centred, along with changes to Now Brief, a new Call Brief feature and Creative Studio updates. Its report on the Korean foldable rollout lists more: Now Nudge recommendations, an Interpreter app that keeps conversation history, a more customisable Quick Panel, drag-and-drop gestures for multi-window, separate auto-rotate settings for the main and cover screens of the foldables, a Quick and Secure Phone Lock triggered by a button combination, indicators showing when apps use location, and a redesigned Samsung Health with customisable cards, sleep vital signs, heart health and menstrual cycle tracking. Samsung has not published a region-by-region feature list, so the US feature set may differ.
How the rollout reached the US
Android Authority reported on September 28 that stable One UI 9 had begun reaching the Galaxy S25 series and the 2025 foldables in South Korea, with the September 5, 2026 security patch and a download of about 535MB for beta testers or about 3.8GB from One UI 8.5. The Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 entered beta testing only earlier in September, so the stable build arrived within weeks. The Galaxy S26 series got One UI 9.0 in Korea on September 16, SamMobile reported.
SamMobile had earlier cited a Samsung Thailand post listing September 28 for the S25 series and 2025 foldables, with the Galaxy S23 FE due by October, while cautioning those might be Thailand-specific dates. Reports differ on which models are included: gHacks also listed the Galaxy S25 FE and S25 Edge in the Korean wave, which other outlets did not, and a single report says S25 Edge users in India have started receiving it (NewsBytes). Treat the S25 FE and S25 Edge as unconfirmed.
India
Samsung's One UI 9 beta for the S25 series ran in South Korea, the UK and India (Sammyfans), but there is no confirmed stable date for the S25, S25+ or S25 Ultra in India.
What to watch next
Watch for the stable build in India and Europe, and for a Samsung newsroom post or official One UI 9 page for the 2025 devices that settles the feature and model lists.
