Motorola has made the Signature 27 official in the US at $1,599.99, with pre-orders opening on November 19 and sales starting on November 26. The flagship pairs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 with a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and a dedicated event-based camera sensor aimed at capturing motion.
Price and availability
The only configuration sold in the US has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and it costs $1,599.99. Droid Life notes that this is $450 more than Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra. Motorola will sell the phone through its own website, Amazon and Best Buy, and the phone is unlocked, so it is not tied to a single carrier. Android Headlines reports that Motorola has said there is no availability in Canada for now, and that other regions may get different variants. Neither outlet gave dates for any market outside the US.
Display and design
The Signature 27 has a 6.8-inch tandem OLED panel that Motorola calls Extreme AMOLED Duo. It runs at up to 120Hz, supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and is rated for a peak brightness of 12,000 nits, a figure that would put it well ahead of most rivals if it holds up in independent testing, since peak brightness claims often depend on small highlight areas. Glass protection comes from Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. The body measures 7.99mm thick and weighs 227g, and it carries IP68 and IP69 ratings along with MIL-STD-810H durability certification.
The colour options are two Pantone shades, Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive. Android Headlines points out that the phone has no microSD slot and no 3.5mm headphone jack, and that it is Qi2 ready but does not have magnets built in.
Performance and software
Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, backed by 12GB of LPDDR5X memory that a RAM Boost feature can stretch by a further 12GB, and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone ships with Android 17 and Motorola promises seven years of OS upgrades and up to seven years of security updates on the specification sheet. That is a long support window for a phone that costs this much. The listing also mentions GrapheneOS support, an unusual extra for a mainstream handset.
On the AI side, Motorola includes Google's Gemini Intelligence features and its own Qira system, which is built to work across supported Motorola and Lenovo devices.
Cameras and the event sensor
The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYTIA L910 sensor with optical stabilisation. A 200MP periscope telephoto offers 3x optical zoom and what Motorola labels Super Zoom Pro up to 100x, and a 50MP ultrawide covers a 122-degree field of view. The front camera is also 50MP. Video tops out at 8K at 30 frames per second, with 4K available up to 120fps and Dolby Vision recording.
The unusual part is a separate event-based vision sensor on the back. AndroidGuys describes it as detecting changes in light at the pixel level to capture motion information. The same report cautions that whether it makes photos and video noticeably better will need hands-on testing, and we agree that the claim should stay unproven until reviewers have tried it on moving subjects.
Battery and charging
The 7,000mAh silicon-carbon cell is rated at 6,790mAh by Android Headlines, which also lists a 66-hour usage rating from Motorola. Wired charging reaches 90W and wireless charging 50W, and the phone can share power in reverse, at 5W wirelessly and 4.5W over a cable. Audio is tuned by Bang & Olufsen, with coaxial stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos and five microphones.
India pricing and availability
We could not find an Indian price or sale date for the Signature 27 from Motorola or from Indian outlets, and the US reports we checked do not mention India. Indian price figures circulating before launch were estimates and leaks, so treat them as unconfirmed until Motorola India publishes its own numbers.
What to watch next
The first thing to watch is whether Motorola confirms an India launch and an INR price, because a $1,599.99 US tag suggests a premium figure that buyers will compare with the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Independent reviews should arrive close to the November 26 sale date, and they will show whether the 12,000-nit claim, the event sensor and the battery life match Motorola's numbers. Also watch for details on the Canadian and European plans, since Motorola has hinted at regional variants without describing them.
