Motorola has set a date for its next flagship in India. The Signature 27 will launch on November 5, 2026, according to GSMArena on October 30, after the company changed the "coming this November" line on its Indian site to a specific day. GSMArena does not name the market for the date, but the confirmation came through Motorola's Indian pages.

What Motorola has confirmed

The Signature 27 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, with an ArcticMesh cooling system that Motorola says has a vapour chamber 40 percent larger than the previous generation. The main camera is a 50MP Sony Lytia 910 sensor with optical stabilisation, paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto. Audio is tuned by Bang & Olufsen, and the phone ships with Android 17 and seven years of OS updates.

GSMArena reported on October 28 that Motorola's Indian page also mentions Super Zoom Pro, which offers up to 100x zoom using generative AI. Motorola's marketing for zoom at that scale rests heavily on software processing, so image quality at the extreme end will need testing.

What is expected, not confirmed

Digit, citing the phone's earlier debut at the Snapdragon Summit in September, expects a 6.8-inch 2K LTPO OLED display at 165Hz, a 6,000mAh battery and Motorola's Hello UI. These are expectations and not Motorola's published specifications for India.

Colour names differ between sources. Digit lists PANTONE Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive, while TelecomTalk describes green and black. We will wait for Motorola's launch to settle that.

TelecomTalk says a live India microsite confirms the launch and that the chipset is the same one used in the OnePlus 16 5G.

Price is the open question

Motorola has not announced an Indian price. Digit says it could start above Rs 1 lakh. GSMArena found a Portuguese retailer listing at 1,594.90 euros for the 12GB and 512GB version, which Digit converts to roughly Rs 1,69,000 while noting the India price could be lower. A European retail listing says little about Indian pricing, which depends on taxes, local offers and channel strategy. We have not been able to confirm which retailer will carry the phone in India.

Where it fits

At a price above Rs 1 lakh the Signature 27 would face the Galaxy S-series, the OnePlus flagships and the iPhone range. Motorola's pitch is the long update promise and an image-focused hardware package, not a gaming-first design. The seven-year commitment matches what Samsung and Google already offer, and it has become a baseline expectation at this price.

Motorola's recent Indian launches have competed mostly at mid-range prices, so a phone that may cost over Rs 1 lakh is a test of whether buyers will pay a premium for the brand. The decision will depend on camera results, software polish and launch-day offers.

What to watch next

Watch for the launch event on November 5 for the official India price, bank offers, sale date and confirmed battery and display specifications. Early camera comparisons will show whether the 200MP periscope and the Lytia 910 sensor deliver in everyday use.
