Google's Pixel 11 series is the only current Pixel family that has not received Android 17 QPR1, according to 9to5Google and Android Authority. The October update that began rolling out on October 6 skipped the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and Google has not said why or when the update will arrive.
What is missing and who is affected
QPR1 is the first Quarterly Platform Release for Android 17, a mid-cycle update that carries fixes and smaller features between major versions, including the Pause Point Digital Wellbeing feature, wider blur effects and custom ringtone vibration patterns (Android Authority). It rolled out to other supported Pixels in mid-September as part of the September Pixel Drop. Oddly, Google's supported-device list at the time included the Pixel 11 models (9to5Google), but the phones, which launched in August on base Android 17, have not received it.
That leaves buyers of Google's newest phones on an older software build than owners of earlier Pixels. The October patch did bring two fixes for the Pixel 11, according to 9to5Google: one for the virtual keyboard sometimes failing to appear in search fields, and one for photos and videos sometimes saved in the wrong orientation. Both are useful but narrow, not the broader QPR1 package.
A pattern, not a one-off
The delay follows a series of separate handling steps for the Pixel 11. Android Authority says an early September update, build CD1A.260905.001.B1, went only to the Pixel 11 and skipped the rest of the lineup, and 9to5Google says the phones received two early updates in September that likely fixed post-launch problems.
The beta channel shows the same split. Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 arrived in late September without Pixel 11 support, and Beta 6.1 followed a few days later with it, adding HiLight support for message notifications, per 9to5Google. The Pixel 11 then received the Android 17 QPR3 beta a few days after its release without trouble.

Why it might be happening
Neither outlet has an explanation. Android Authority says it asked Google for a reason and an expected date. It notes that the Pixel 11 uses the new Tensor G6 chip and a MediaTek modem, but says the reason for the delays is unknown. Google has published no statement, support post or bug tracker entry explaining the gap, so any link between the hardware and the missing update is speculation.
9to5Google offers its own reading of the calendar, which is also a guess. Its author suggests a second October release looks unlikely, that attention is shifting to November, and that QPR2 is about a month away, so Google could wait until December to bring all devices level. If that proves right, Pixel 11 owners could wait roughly three months for an update other Pixels received in September.
What it means for Pixel 11 owners
For most owners, nothing is broken. The phones are receiving monthly patches, and the October update included fixes. The practical cost is that features and fixes bundled into QPR1 are unavailable to them for now. Android Authority also links to earlier coverage of a QPR1 performance regression on other phones; whether skipping QPR1 has spared the Pixel 11 from it or merely delayed it is not known.
Owners who want the next quarterly features sooner have one imperfect option. The Pixel 11 can run the Android 17 QPR3 beta, but beta software carries bugs and is not intended for a primary phone, and it does not solve the QPR1 question.
What to watch next
Watch for a Google statement on the Pixel community forum, a mid-month Pixel 11 build, and the November Pixel update, the next scheduled chance to bring the phones level. If Google bundles QPR1 and QPR2 for the Pixel 11, that would confirm the waiting scenario.
