XMG PRO 18 Gaming Laptops Go on Sale in Europe From €2,849 With RTX 5070 Ti and 300Hz
The German brand's first 18-inch laptops in years come in a PRO 18 with a Core Ultra 9 and a cheaper PRO 18 VE with an RTX 5070, both with 99.8Wh removable batteries.

XMG has put its PRO 18 and PRO 18 VE gaming laptops on sale in Europe, with prices starting at €2,849. Both have 18-inch screens, Nvidia RTX 5070-class graphics and removable 99.8Wh batteries, and a 5 percent early-bird discount ran until October 20 (Notebookcheck).

Screens
Both laptops use 16:10 IPS panels at 2,560 by 1,600 with 500 nits of brightness; the difference is the refresh rate, 300Hz on the PRO 18 and 180Hz on the VE. Both support variable refresh rate, and a MUX switch lets the laptop switch between integrated and dedicated graphics. The 16:10 shape gives more vertical space than a 16:9 screen without pushing the pixel count to 4K.
Power, memory and storage
Both can take up to 128GB of DDR5-6400, although Basic Tutorials says memory is currently limited to 2 by 64GB because of market shortages. Storage comes from two M.2 slots, with the main one running at PCIe 5.0 and total capacity up to 16TB.
A third fan is dedicated to cooling the memory, alongside the CPU and GPU fans. How well the cooling performs under sustained load has not yet been tested in an independent review.
Ports and extras
At the back are Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort, HDMI 2.1 and Mini DisplayPort 2.1. The sides carry a USB-C 3.2 port, three USB-A 3.1 ports, 2.5Gb Ethernet and an SD Express card reader. Notebookcheck says USB-C power delivery reaches up to 140W, and up to four external monitors are supported. Wi-Fi 7 is included, along with a Full HD webcam that works with Windows Hello and has a physical privacy shutter.
The keyboard is full size with a numeric pad, 1.8mm key travel and single-zone RGB lighting, and the glass touchpad measures 152 by 97mm. The body is about 400 by 291.5mm and 24.9 to 26.5mm thick. These are laptops meant to sit on a desk, though the removable battery means they are not tied to the wall.
A return to 18 inches
XMG's Computex announcement said the PRO 18 marks the brand's return to the 18-inch category for the first time since 2011 (FeedBagel). The company's page also says the models were originally scheduled for August to September 2026, so the sale started a little later than planned.
How the prices stack up
At €2,849 and €3,299, the laptops sit in the upper tier of gaming portables. The €450 difference buys a faster processor, a more powerful graphics chip and a higher refresh rate, and the choice depends on whether a buyer plays competitive games that benefit from 300Hz. Prices are in euros including VAT and apply to Europe. No Indian price or launch has been announced.
What to watch next
Watch for the first independent reviews of cooling, fan noise, battery life and colour accuracy, for the memory options to widen beyond 2 by 64GB if supply improves, and for any availability outside Europe.
