Redmi Book 2027 With Intel Wildcat Lake Launches in China on October 27
Xiaomi has fixed the date, the chip family and a 72Wh battery, but price, panel type and a 16-inch model are not yet confirmed.
Xiaomi has confirmed that its Redmi Book 2027 series, built on Intel's Wildcat Lake chips, will launch in China on Tuesday, October 27, at 19:00 China time (4:30 pm IST), alongside the Redmi K100 phone. The announcement came on Xiaomi's Redmi Weibo account on October 22 (Notebookcheck, TweakTown).
What Xiaomi has confirmed for the Redmi Book 14 2027
| Redmi Book 14 2027 | Confirmed or reported |
|---|---|
| Processor | Intel Core Series 3 (Wildcat Lake, Intel 18A); fine print names the Core 5 320 |
| Display | 14-inch, 2.8K; panel type not disclosed |
| Memory | LPDDR5X-7467, at least 16GB |
| Battery | 72Wh; Xiaomi claims 20.2 hours of simulated office use |
| Ports | 2x USB-A, 2x USB-C, HDMI, 3.5mm audio |
| Other | Fingerprint reader, several colours including pale pink |
| Price | Not announced |
Details beyond the date come from the fine print of Xiaomi's promotional material, as reported by Notebookcheck, ITHome and XiaomiToday. Wildcat Lake is Intel's entry-level Core Series 3 family on its 18A process, paired with a small Xe3 integrated GPU and an NPU, so these are thin-and-light everyday laptops rather than performance machines.
Treat the battery claims as upper bounds
Xiaomi's 20.2 hours of office use and 1.26 days of local video playback are marketing figures with no stated test conditions. Real-world battery life will be lower, and independent reviews will be needed to judge it.
What is still unclear
There is no price yet, and no storage options or panel type. A Geekbench listing shows a Redmi Book 16 2027 with the same Core 5 320 and 16GB of DDR5-4800 memory, and a 16-inch model is widely expected, but Xiaomi has not confirmed it, so treat that listing as a leak. The memory type in the leak (DDR5-4800) also conflicts with the LPDDR5X-7467 in Xiaomi's fine print; they may be different models, or the benchmark tool may have misread the memory.
For context, the 2026 Redmi Book 14 started at CNY 6,499 for 16GB and 512GB in China (Gagadget).
Will it launch in India?
No international release has been announced. Xiaomi has sold Redmi laptops in India before, but it has not launched a new Redmi Book here in recent generations, so Indian buyers should not assume this one will arrive. If it does, the Wildcat Lake platform would put it against entry-level Intel and AMD laptops in the Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 band.
What to watch next
October 27 should settle the price, display panel, memory type and whether a 16-inch model exists. Any word from Xiaomi about markets outside China is the signal for Indian buyers. More broadly, TrendForce expects notebook shipments to fall in 2027 as memory and CPU costs rise, which could push prices up across the segment.
