Phantom Blade Zero Sells Over 4 Million Copies in 72 Hours on PS5 and PC, Its Developer Says

Phantom Blade Zero has sold more than 4 million copies across PS5 and PC in its first 72 hours, according to developer and publisher S-GAME. Push Square reported on November 2, 2026 that the studio's official X account posted the figure that day. The number is S-GAME's own claim, and we have found no independent sales data.

The numbers behind the claim

The game launched on PS5 and PC on October 29, according to Push Square and the PlayStation Store listing. Steam's page shows October 28, which may reflect time zones, though none of the sources explain the difference. The PlayStation Store also lists the game as PS5 Pro enhanced.

On Steam, SteamDB shows an all-time peak of 833,921 concurrent players on November 1, matching the "over 833K" reported by GoSuGamers. That figure has risen from earlier readings of about 731,000 on October 30 and about 680,000 on October 29, reported by Game World Observer and Gameswelt. The standard edition costs $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe $69.99 on Steam, according to Steam and Insider Gaming, and Push Square also gives $59.99 for the US.

Critics and players

Critics have been positive. Steam lists a Metacritic score of 88, and Otakukart reports an OpenCritic average of 92, though we could not read either aggregator directly. Player reviews on Steam are also strong, but the percentage is moving: a cached page we read showed 89 percent positive across about 4,950 English reviews, while Game World Observer reported 84 percent of more than 27,000 reviews on October 30. Treat the score as roughly 84 to 89 percent positive, depending on when it was checked.

How the launch compares

Push Square compares the sales with Black Myth: Wukong, which sold more than 10 million copies in its first three days. Phantom Blade Zero's total is therefore well short of that mark, and Wccftech makes a similar point while warning that the two launches are not directly comparable. The two games share an audience, which helps explain why the comparison is so common: both are Chinese-developed action games with strong interest across China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

That regional split is visible in the pre-launch data. Game World Observer reports that Alinea Analytics estimated about 850,000 copies sold on Steam and PS5 before release, with around 62.5 percent from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. That is an analyst estimate rather than a company figure, and it does not appear to include the S-GAME total.

Caveats on the 4 million figure

The 4 million number covers PS5 and PC combined and does not distinguish paid copies from gifted ones or from pre-orders. S-GAME has not published a platform split, and Steam does not publish sales. We could not read the original X post, so we are relying on Push Square and GoSuGamers, who both say S-GAME confirmed it. A cross-check against the X post or a later press release would be ideal.

Reports of a lower price of $44.99 appear to be wrong for the US. A Hong Kong PlayStation Store deluxe deal at about 44 euros, spotted on a deals site, may be the source of the confusion, and the offer has expired.

India

We found no India-specific pricing or availability information for the game, so we are not stating an Indian price. Buyers in India can check the PlayStation Store and Steam listings for their regional pricing.

What to watch next

The first thing to watch is whether S-GAME publishes a platform breakdown or a refund and review update, and whether Steam concurrent players hold up through the week. Sales for the second week will show whether the launch spike turns into a long tail. S-GAME has not announced a roadmap, so any post-launch content plans and PS5 or PC patch notes will be the next signals of how the studio plans to support the game.
