iPhone Duo Price in India Starts at Rs 2,99,900, $1,999 in the US: Pre-Orders and Sale Dates

Apple's first foldable iPhone went on pre-order on October 16 and on sale on October 23 in India, the US and 70-plus markets.

Apple's first foldable phone went on pre-order on October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific time, 5:30 p.m. in India, with sales and deliveries from Friday, October 23. The iPhone Duo starts at Rs 2,99,900 in India and $1,999 in the US for 256GB (Apple India store, Beebom).

India prices are from Apple's India store, which also lists EMI from about Rs 26,574 a month on the 256GB model; US prices were published by MacRumors on October 15. There are two colours, Star White and Night Sky. Apple announced the phone on September 9.

Where and when it ships

The first wave on October 23 covered the US and more than 70 other countries and regions, including India, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore and the UK. A second group of 28 markets follows on October 30.

The performance and battery figures are Apple's and not independently tested.

Supply and demand

US delivery estimates slid to January 2027 within minutes of pre-orders opening, and Apple called demand "nothing short of extraordinary" (full story). Before launch, China's Jiemian News reported Foxconn final-assembly yields only slightly above 60 percent in September; Apple has not commented. In India, 91mobiles reports that a shortage has grey-market sellers asking about Rs 50,000 over Apple's price. Buy from Apple, its authorised resellers or listed retailers rather than paying a premium to unofficial sellers.

Repairs and reaction

Apple chief executive John Ternus told TIME that early foldables were "kind of cheap and crappy," positioning the Duo as Apple's answer. A folding screen and hinge raise the stakes for damage; Apple says the folding display has a replaceable cover layer, $19 with AppleCare+. AppleCare+ is worth pricing in at this level.
