Apple Now Sells iPhone 18 Pro Repair Parts, With a $249 Camera Module

Apple began selling repair parts on October 20 for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with its latest Mac Studio and Mac mini models, through its Self Service Repair programme (AppleInsider, The Apple Post). The iPhone 18 Pro camera module is priced at $249, with a credit of $59.76 for returning the old part, bringing the net cost to $189.24.

What is covered

The new parts cover the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, the Mac Studio with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, and the Mac mini with M6 and M5 Pro chips (iClarified, Gizmochina). The programme lets customers and independent shops buy genuine components and repair manuals, and Apple says it is intended for people with repair experience.

iPhone 18 Pro repair prices

Part (US)PriceAfter return credit
Rear camera module (18 Pro)$249$189.24 ($59.76 credit)
Display, iPhone 18 Pro$329Smaller credit
Display, iPhone 18 Pro Max$379Smaller credit
Repair tool kit rental (7 days)$49-

The $249 camera price is reported consistently across outlets and matches the previous generation, even though the iPhone 18 Pro camera has a variable-aperture system. The display and tool rental prices come from fewer outlets, so check Apple's Self Service Repair Store for the exact part before ordering. With the tool rental, a self-installed camera repair comes to about $238 after the return credit.

Why the timing stands out

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are new enough that early owners are still reporting problems, such as the burgundy finish fading around the camera. Parts availability matters most when devices are new, and having a camera module on sale within weeks gives owners an alternative to a service visit.

Apple has not compared programme repair costs with its own service pricing. Customers considering a DIY repair should weigh the risk of damaging other components, account for tools and shipping, and confirm with Apple what a repair does to any warranty or AppleCare coverage before starting.

Macs get parts too

The programme is not limited to phones. Mac Studio owners with M5 Max or M5 Ultra configurations can order Thunderbolt and USB-C ports, fans, speakers, SSD modules, logic boards and power supplies. The Mac mini list is shorter: fans, speakers, logic boards and power supplies for M6 and M5 Pro models. Prices for the Mac parts have not been reported.

Availability in India

Apple's Self Service Repair programme has not been launched in India, and none of the coverage mentions these parts being sold here. Indian owners of the iPhone 18 Pro should continue to use Apple Stores and Apple Authorised Service Providers for repairs.

What to watch next

Battery and back-glass prices for the iPhone 18 Pro series on Apple's store, and whether Apple adds the iPhone Duo, which is not in the current list.
