Apple Says Nearly 100 iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro Parts Are Made by US Suppliers

Apple says nearly 100 components in the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro now come from American companies spread across more than a dozen states. The claim sits in an October 20 newsroom post that expands the company's American Manufacturing Program, and the headline addition is Perryman Company, which will supply titanium for the Duo.

What Apple announced

SupplierLocationWhat it supplies
Perryman Company (new)Houston, PennsylvaniaGrade 5 titanium, at least 80% recycled, for the iPhone Duo enclosure; Apple commits up to $100m over three years
Qnity Electronics (joined in March)DelawareFilms for the iPhone 18 Pro's variable-aperture camera
BroadcomFort Collins, ColoradoMore than 15 billion US-made RF chips under a multiyear deal; $1.5bn expansion announced in July
CorningHarrodsburg, KentuckyCover glass, including the Duo's Ceramic Shield
CoherentSherman, TexasLasers for Face ID and the redesigned Dynamic Island on the 18 Pro and Pro Max
TSMCArizonaMore than 100 million chips for Apple in 2026
AmkorPeoria, ArizonaChip packaging; more than 3,500 jobs across two phases, Apple an early customer

Apple says that by the end of 2026, all iPhone cover glass and all Apple Watch cover glass sold worldwide will come from Corning's Kentucky site. MacRumors and AppleInsider report the same partners and figures. MacRumors adds that the release reaffirms US Mac mini assembly later this year, at a site expected to be a Foxconn facility in Houston, Texas.

The bigger commitment

The program, launched in 2025, is part of Apple's US investment pledge of $600 billion over four years. Apple says its suppliers operate in all 50 states and support more than 450,000 American jobs. Those are Apple's own figures, and the post does not say how much of the total is new money rather than spending that would have happened anyway.

What the claim does and does not mean

Nearly 100 US-sourced components is a statement about where parts are made, not where the phones are assembled. Nothing in the announcement says the iPhone Duo or iPhone 18 Pro will be assembled in the United States, and Apple does not say what share of either phone's bill of materials is American. Much iPhone assembly, including for the 18 Pro, happens in India and China.

The titanium is the most concrete new item. The 80 percent recycled content is a material claim Apple can be held to, but the post does not say how much titanium each Duo uses or when Perryman's supply begins, and CNBC notes Apple did not say whether the deal adds near-term capacity while Duo supply is tight.

Why now

The timing lines up with the Duo's October 23 on-sale date. Apple has used American Manufacturing Program announcements throughout 2026 to highlight suppliers, and a new product launch is a natural moment to do it again.

What to watch next

An official date and site for US Mac mini assembly, any volume or delivery details for the titanium, and Corning's end-of-2026 timeline for cover glass.
