ASUS Launches Ascent QN10, Its First Agentic AI Mini PC With an 80 TOPS NPU

ASUS has begun selling the Ascent QN10, a mini PC it describes as its first built for agentic AI, software that carries out multi-step tasks on its own rather than answering single prompts. Announced September 17, it fits Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite and an 80 TOPS NPU into a chassis under 0.7 litres, from $1,349.99 in the US (Digital Citizen, HotHardware).

What is inside

The QN10 uses the Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100, a 3nm chip with an 18-core third-generation Oryon CPU and Adreno X2-90 graphics. Its Hexagon NPU is rated at up to 80 TOPS of INT8 processing, double Microsoft's 40 TOPS minimum for a Copilot+ PC. As Digital Citizen notes, TOPS is a theoretical ceiling, and real performance depends on the model, precision, memory and software support.

The memory is soldered, which helps bandwidth and packaging but rules out later upgrades (Guru3D). The 32GB model is sold through the ASUS store, Amazon, Newegg and B&H, and Best Buy lists the base model.

Why agentic AI is the pitch

ASUS presents this as more than a small Windows PC. The QN10 comes with access to Qualcomm's AI Hub, which offers more than 175 pre-optimised models and tools, and supports running AI agent frameworks locally instead of relying on the cloud. That helps latency, since agents act faster without a round trip to a data centre, and privacy, since sensitive data does not have to leave the machine.

That makes it more of a tool for developers, small businesses and AI experimenters who want to run autonomous workflows without dedicated server hardware, and the 0.7-litre size offers a desk-sized alternative to renting cloud GPU time for small-scale work.

Pricing reflects the positioning

At $1,349.99 and $1,699, the QN10 costs well above a conventional mini PC of similar size. Buyers are paying for the Snapdragon X2 Elite platform, its NPU and the compact build rather than general-purpose power alone. One report puts the initial Chinese configuration at CNY 9,999.

No Indian price or launch has been announced.

What to watch next

Independent benchmarks will show whether the 80 TOPS NPU delivers useful local agent performance or stays a spec-sheet number most buyers underuse.
