Apple's Welcome Home Lineup Leaked in Detail: How Gurman's Report Compared With the Launch
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman listed chips, colours and ship dates for Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2 and HomeView before the October 13 event. Most of it was right; one ship date was not.
Update: Apple announced the three products on October 13. The HomePod mini 2 ships on October 30, but the Apple TV 4K moved to November 13 alongside HomeView, rather than October 30 as reported. Two days before Apple's "Welcome home" event, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that the new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 would ship on October 30, with the HomeView smart home hub following around mid-November (MacRumors, MacRumors leak roundup).

The announced Apple TV 4K also added more storage and Wi-Fi 7 (MacRumors recap). Before the event, Apple had marked the first Apple TV 4K as vintage, a step that often comes as a replacement nears.
HomeView as reported
Gurman described a touch display with Siri's AI features at the centre and voice as the main input, designed to be glanced at from across the room. He reported two versions: a tabletop model on a metal speaker base that he said sounds better than the HomePod mini, likened by 9to5Mac to the old iMac G4, and a wall-mounted version on a flat plate. The name matched a trademark filing MacRumors had found. HomeView runs Apple's own apps without a third-party App Store.
Accessories
The report also listed partner accessories built with LG and Schneider Electric: a video doorbell, deadbolt, thermostat, temperature sensor, indoor and outdoor cameras and a floodlight camera. Apple confirmed this Home Collection at the event, with sales starting in December and some products in early 2027.
What the record shows
Gurman's chip, memory, colour and partner details all held up, and two items he hedged with "may" turned out to be true. The one miss was the Apple TV ship date, which slipped two weeks. That is a reminder that ship dates in pre-launch reports are the details most likely to move.
