Amazon has announced the Echo Show 16, a 16-inch smart display that adds an optional anti-glare screen, a sharper camera and a bigger speaker system. Pre-orders opened on October 28, 2026, according to Amazon's own announcement and Engadget, with shipping "later this year" and no exact date given.
Price in the US
Amazon lists the standard Echo Show 16 at $499.99. A version with the new nanomatte display costs $569.99. Amazon is offering $100 off during pre-order. Stands are sold separately, at $69.99 for the standard stand and $124.99 for a swivel-and-tilt stand. Engadget rounds the prices slightly, but the exact figures here come from Amazon.
The nanomatte screen
The headline feature is the nanomatte display, which uses the same anti-glare technology as the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro. Amazon claims it delivers "more than 90% less glare and 50% less sparkle" than a standard display. Engadget reports the panel was developed with Corning, a detail that was not in the summary of Amazon's page, so we treat it as Engadget's reporting. Both figures are Amazon's own claims, and we have not seen independent tests.
Anti-glare screens have a trade-off. They scatter reflections but can soften contrast slightly, so buyers who place the display opposite a window may like the nanomatte version, while those in dim rooms may not need to pay the $70 extra.
Size, build and sound
The screen is 16 inches at Full HD resolution, and Amazon says it offers 10 percent more viewing area than the Echo Show 15. The frame is anodised aluminium, and Amazon says the design is nearly 40 percent thinner than before. For audio, the device has eight micro woofers and two tweeters. Amazon also says it has 20 percent more compute power than its predecessor.
Camera and Fire TV
A 13MP wide-angle camera is built in. Amazon says Visual ID, which recognises household members, now works up to 17 feet, up from 8 feet previously, and the Echo Show gains night vision for the first time. Fire TV is built in, so the display doubles as a small television in a kitchen or bedroom.
Alexa+ requirement
Some features depend on Alexa+, Amazon's upgraded assistant, which is included for Prime members in the US. Amazon's quote on the launch, that Echo Show has been "our fastest-growing Echo product line," points to why the company keeps investing in the category. Buyers who do not use Prime should check which features they lose before ordering.

India
Neither Amazon's page nor Engadget mentions India, and we could not find any India launch information or rupee price. Amazon's announcement uses US prices and links only. Indian readers should not expect the device, or Alexa+ features, to follow on the same schedule.
What to watch next
Watch for Amazon's confirmed ship date, hands-on testing of the nanomatte panel against the standard screen, and any announcement of the device in other countries. Reviews will show whether the glare claims hold in a bright kitchen.
