Gurman: Apple's First Touchscreen MacBook Pro Could Go on Sale November 6
A planned Apple Store reset from November 5 into November 6 points to the date, but Apple has not confirmed the product, the date or the price.

Apple's first touchscreen MacBook Pro could go on sale as early as November 6, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Apple has not confirmed the date, the product or its price, so treat everything below as a report, not an announcement (The Mac Observer, The Apple Post).
What Gurman reported
In his Power On newsletter dated October 18, Gurman said Apple is planning to release new Macs on Friday, November 6. MacRumors, summarising the newsletter, lists the possible launches as OLED MacBook Pro models, a 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac with M6 chips, and an iPad mini with an OLED display, announced on October 27 or 28.
The main clue is a store reset. Apple retail stores are planning a large floor reset from the evening of Thursday, November 5 into Friday, November 6, and Gurman has said such resets typically come about a week after Apple introduces new products. A reset shows when Apple plans to change its displays, not exactly what will be on them, so it is a signal rather than confirmation.
What the machine is said to be
| Touchscreen MacBook Pro (reported) | Details |
|---|---|
| Sizes | 14-inch and 16-inch |
| Display | Tandem OLED similar to the iPad Pro, with touch input |
| Design | Dynamic Island replacing the notch (no Face ID); significantly lighter |
| Chips | M5 Pro and M5 Max |
| Software | Touch-focused menus and larger menu bar controls |
| Price | Not reported |
9to5Mac adds that M6 versions of the Pro and Max chips are reportedly skipped, with the base M7 coming in early 2027. It also points to evidence that does not come from sourcing: touch support for Sidecar, pull-to-refresh and larger menu bar items in macOS 27 betas suggest Apple is preparing the operating system for touch.
Two 14-inch MacBook Pros at once
If the M6 14-inch MacBook Pro keeps the current design, as reported, Apple could sell two 14-inch MacBook Pro designs side by side: a conventional one and the new touchscreen OLED model. That is a possibility drawn from the reports, and the price gap between them is unknown.
How this fits Apple's autumn
Apple has already scheduled the iPhone Duo for October 23, the HomePod mini 2 for October 30, and HomeView and the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K for November 13, so a November 6 Mac release would fill the gap in a run of Friday launches. Since this report, Apple has confirmed a "Pro and Tell" event for October 28, which fits Gurman's timeline.
For buyers in India
No India date or pricing has been reported. Anyone in India planning to buy a MacBook Pro this month may want to wait until after October 28, since a redesign changes what the current models are worth and may bring discounts on outgoing stock.
