2027 Ford Mustang Mach-E Makes the Bigger Battery Standard From $39,995 and Adds a Trail Package

Ford has announced the 2027 Mustang Mach-E with the larger extended-range battery fitted as standard across the line. The Select rear-wheel-drive model starts at $39,995, excluding a $2,045 destination charge, and order banks opened on October 22 (Electrek, Motor1).

All prices here are US manufacturer's suggested retail prices, as reported by Electrek, Motor1 and The EV Report, which agree with each other.

The 2027 price list

2027 Mustang Mach-EPrice (before $2,045 destination)Battery (usable)
Select RWD$39,99588 kWh
Select eAWD$42,99588 kWh
Select eAWD + Trail package$45,29088 kWh
Premium RWD$42,99588 kWh
Premium eAWD$45,99588 kWh
GT eAWD$50,99591 kWh
Rally eAWD$55,29091 kWh

The 73 kWh standard-range pack, which used LFP cells from CATL, has been dropped; every 2027 car uses the nickel-based extended-range pack from LG Energy Solution. Ford's BlueCruise 1.5 driver assistance is standard on the GT and Rally, per Electrek.

Cheaper long range, pricier entry point

The change cuts both ways. Against the 2026 extended-range car at $45,345, the 2027 Select RWD is about $5,350 cheaper for the same bigger battery. But the cheapest 2026 Mach-E, the standard-range Select at $37,795, is gone, so the lowest entry price has actually risen by $2,200 (Motor1). Whether that is a price cut depends on which car you were going to buy.

Range

Electrek lists estimated EPA range of up to 320 miles for rear-wheel drive and 300 miles for eAWD, with the GT at 280 miles and the Rally at 255 miles. Ford has not yet published official 2027 range figures, so treat these as estimates until EPA ratings are confirmed. We did not find charging power or charging time figures for 2027.

The new Trail package

The Trail package is a $2,295 option only on the Select eAWD, bringing it to $45,290 before destination, or $47,335 with it. It adds 10mm of front and 15mm of rear ride height, the Rally's 19-inch wheels, Michelin CrossClimate 2 tyres and the Rally's steering rack, plus a standard 400W, 120V Pro Power Onboard outlet. It must be chosen when ordering and cannot be added later. Trail deliveries are due in the first quarter of 2027, and its range has not been announced (The EV Report).

India

The Mustang Mach-E is not sold in India, and Ford no longer builds or sells cars here after exiting local manufacturing in 2021. For Indian readers, the more relevant EV launches are compact models such as Hyundai's made-in-India compact EV.

What to watch next

Official EPA range ratings for the 2027 lineup, the Trail's range and first deliveries, and independent tests of the Select RWD will show how much the larger standard battery changes the car's appeal.
