Witcher 3 Remastered and Minecraft Dungeons II Lead a Packed Week of Game Releases
The week of September 28 brought The Witcher 3 remaster as a free upgrade for owners, Minecraft Dungeons II from $29.99 and on Game Pass, and a Monster Hunter Wilds expansion.
The week of September 28 to October 4 was one of the busier stretches of the autumn gaming calendar, led by a remaster of one of the most loved role-playing games of the last decade and a sequel to a Minecraft spin-off.
The Witcher 3 returns, with a free upgrade
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered launched on September 29 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, with improved graphics and gameplay on every platform, CD Projekt Red says. Existing owners on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S get it as a free upgrade, physical or digital, and Switch owners can claim the Switch 2 version free (80.lv, Nintendo Life). The remaster includes the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions, and the Switch 2 version adds motion controls and gyro aiming (CD Projekt Red). Switch 1 cartridge owners need to update to the latest patch first, then use the "Now available for Nintendo Switch 2" option on the title screen.
Minecraft Dungeons II arrives on almost everything
Minecraft Dungeons II also released on September 29, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2 and PC. Mojang's new action role-playing dungeon crawler supports drop-in co-op for up to four players, online or on the same couch, and Mojang promises tougher challenges than the original.

The Deluxe Edition of Minecraft Dungeons II adds the Soul Cape, the Blub pet, four extra hero skins and access to two future expansions (Respawn by Outlook India).
Smaller releases
Transport Fever 3 lets players build routes across land, sea and air through a century of transport history. TOEM 2 is a relaxed photography-themed adventure. Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds expansion, shown at Sony's September State of Play, arrived on October 1 with new armour types and cosmetics, following Marvel's Wolverine on PS5 on September 15.
A look ahead
Recent Nintendo Direct and State of Play showcases pointed further out: Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final chapter of the remake trilogy, is set for April 8, 2027, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 comes to Switch 2 in 2027. The Witcher 3's next expansion, Songs of the Past, is already listed for wishlists.
